Giving a person a Bible is a good start; yet, even atheist read it with a flesh level point-of-view. Some will say that it is a good book for ethics, morals and life lessons. Others will use it to attack or dismiss God's existence.
What their perspective is missing is what gives the Bible life. That is the Holy Spirit. God's Spirit is like a black light that reveals the message no natural eye can see. It is the decoder that interprets the verses. That is why, without salvation through Jesus, people cannot understand the true nature of God.
