Our Better Half

We don't born ourselves

so why do we think that we can control life

We don't nurture ourselves from day one of our birth,

so why do we have the power to change the ways of the world

However...

we were born with a mind

so we can learn through experiences

The good, bad, and ugly

and hopefully improve our self through them

And we were born with a heart

So we can feel

feel pleasure and pain

To learn to enjoy living

To learn how to live for others

And sometimes develop a longing to change, to become better

We were not born to live alone

So we can learn from others' history:

mistakes, mayhem, and milestones

For a life with others grants opportunities:

to growth, to get, to give

We are born to love one another

so we will become one

And, hopefully, become better version of ourselves

Yet, we are not whole without our better half

Our true soul mate

This better half that is not seen, for it is not a person

Whether it is a spirit (The Holy Spirit)

That long to fill us and make us whole.
