As a believer, I think of Simon of Cyrene and how he was told to carry Jesus's cross. There are times in live when we are called to rise to other's fight. To follow them into their war. To bear the weight of others when they are facing death. To help remove some of life's burdens from their shoulder, so they can focus on the strength it takes to fight death and overcome it or, if not, gather the courage it takes to face it.
